2018 Liu Xi 4/4 Violin - $2,200.00

Here is an opportunity to get an instrument that is in great condition and sounds wonderful! The workmanship on this instrument is meticulous and sound is beautiful. It was made in 2018 by Liu Xi in Shanghai. A replacement instrument of this quality would be around $2,600 (this does not include the value of the bow, case, and accessories).

This violin is in “like-new” condition and has been meticulously cared for by a professional musician. It has lovely flamed maple ribs and back. The varnish is in fantastic condition with a nice orange/brown hue reminiscent of an old English instrument. This brings us to notice the tasteful antiquing on this instrument to get it an older look. At first glance, you would never think it is from 2018! Best of both worlds, looking like an older instrument without any of the fragility of an older instrument.

Included is a second set of fittings that can be installed at the buyer’s request. The current pegs are ebony with a lightweight Wittner tailpiece that is perfect for fiddlers/folk music! The second set matches the end button/chinrest with a hill style tailpiece with one fine tuner.

The included case is a polystyrene lightweight canvas covered case in great condition. It has 2 accessory compartments, space for 4 bows, 2 backpack straps, a music pouch, full zipper closure, and a nice clasp.

Also included is a bow in great condition. It is an octagonal brazilwood bow that is ready to be used. The hair is in good condition and is very clean. The bow has a faux whale winding and a lovely paua shell slide in the ebony frog.

This instrument is priced at $2,200.00 and is the perfect instrument to upgrade from your student instrument. Would be a great instrument for a professional that wants a great violin when they don’t want to risk bringing out their $10,000+ instrument! Shipping is available at buyer’s cost. The instrument is available for trial in Halifax.
